Passport fee changes take effect soon
The U.S. Department of State has instituted a new fee schedule for passport services, effective July 13.

Here are the changes:
•U.S. passport book for first-time applicant and minors:
Adults, age 16 and older, first-time applicant total fee will be $135, including a $110 application fee and a $25 execution fee.
Minors, younger than 16, total fee will be $105, including an $80 application fee and a $25 execution fee.
•U.S. passport card for first-time applicants and minors:
Adults, age 16 and older, first-time applicant total fee will be $55, including a $30 application fee and a $25 execution fee.
Minors, younger than 16, total fee will be $40, including an $15 application fee and a $25 execution fee.
•The passport fees for adults eligible to apply by mail for a renewal using form DS-82, “Application for a U.S. Passport by Mail,” are $110 for the passport book and $30 for the passport card.
