Producers are reminded that the final date to submit a report of their planted acres to their local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office is Thursday, July 15.
Farmers should contact their local county FSA office to schedule an appointment. For producers in Douglas County, the telephone number is (320) 763-3191, extension 2.
Producers are encouraged to submit an acreage report so that a history of what has been produced on the cropland can be preserved. Many farm program participation requirements use the cropping history of land in order to qualify for program benefits.
All crops on the farm must be planted prior to filing an acreage report. FSA also will need to know the planting dates for each crop.
Producers who carry multi-peril crop insurance are encouraged to file their acreage reports with our office first and then take a copy to your agent to ensure that all the figures match up between the different agencies.
Please remember to call for an appointment first.
