Baseball: Charger boys hand out baseball awards

The Brandon-Evansville baseball team wrapped up its 2010 season with its awards banquet recently.

Three players shared the Golden Spikes Award as Teddy Wood, Levi Hintermeister and Travis Lund all shared the honor. Lund also took home the Hardest Worker Award for his efforts this year.

Tyson Meissner earned the Silver Slugger Award. Aaron Lund was the RBI leader on the team and also took home the Top Gun Award. Michael Lund rounded out the list of team award winners by being named the most improved player.

The Chargers finished tied for fifth in the Pheasant Conference with a 6-7 record. They had two players named to the all-conference team in Meissner and Aaron Lund. Wood, Travis Lund and Michael Lund earned honorable mention honors.

League champion Wheaton led the way with six players getting all-conference recognition. The Warriors’ Mason Lampe shared the league’s MVP Award with Hancock’s Brendon Foss and Chokio-Alberta’s Alex Erickson.
