Resorters baseball: Senators blank Hawks 15-0

The Alexandria Senators put everything together in a 15-0 win over the Osakis Hawks in Resorters West baseball action this past Sunday.

Collin Modahl had a day to remember in leading the Senators to the easy win. He threw a complete game two-hitter in the seven-inning win, striking out nine along the way. He also drilled a grand slam to help his own cause.

That was one of three home runs on the day for Alexandria. Alex Walker connected for a three-run shot, while Mike Lloyd continued his strong season with a two-run home run. Clay Grimstad also had a big day with three hits and three runs scored.

The Senators broke through in the final two innings to bust the game open. They led just 3-0 heading into the sixth before scoring seven times in the inning. They added five more in the top of the seventh to put the finishing touches on the win.

Alexandria is back on the road this weekend with two games. The Senators travel to Kensington on Saturday for a 2 p.m. game against the Norsemen. They then go to Evansville on Sunday to play the defending Region 16C champion Bluedogs at 7:30 p.m.
