Resorters baseball: Senators romp over Kensington

The Alexandria Senators played about as well as a team can play in all aspects of the game in a 21-0 win over Kensington on June 13.

No errors, two-hits allowed and 16 hits on offense are going to result in a victory every time. That win came with ease for Alexandria as the Senators used a nine-run first and an eight-run third to blow the game open early.

Mike Lloyd had a day to remember from the plate. He finished 6-for-6 with five RBI. Ron Welle had five RBI, as well, while Clay Grimstad collected three hits. Dylan Carlson and Matt Strong each scored three times and Gabe Grimstad got his first career RBI.

That was plenty of offense for a trio of Alexandria pitchers. Derek Miller, Nick Petro and Tim Erickson combined to throw a two-hitter. Miller started and went four innings before Petro worked the fifth and Erickson came on to close things out in the final two innings.
