Adapted bowlers hand out awards

The five graduating Alexandria seniors were also honored

The Cardinal adapted bowling team wrapped up another successful season by handing out its season ending awards at Garden Center Ballroom last Thursday night.

Five graduating seniors in Nicole Anderson, John Kohls, Mitchell Schulz, Mitchell VanAlphen and Ilesha Mercer were recognized for their roles on the team. Anderson also took home an achievement award for the most “turkeys” bowled during the season with five.

Torii Erickson bowled the highest series of anyone on the Cardinal team this year. His 489 won him the Highest Series Award among the guys on the team. Tayler Mayer won the award for the girls with a 458. Mitch Schulz won the Team Spirit Award, while Drew Winter earned the Coaches Award for his positive attitude and work ethic.

The Cardinals capped off their season with another strong showing at state. Anderson and Erickson highlighted that with a doubles championship. Kaila Seidel earned a second-place medal in the singles female division, while McKenzi Klimek, Dane Bellefeuille, Kaitlyn York and Mayer won a third-place trophy in the team competition.
