SWIFT FALLS, Minn. – A 34-year-old man is in critical condition at St. Cloud Hospital after being struck in the head with a bat early Sunday morning here.
Authorities say Ricky Kimble of Swift Falls was struck by John Evans, 24, of Starbuck, who was arrested and is being held in jail for second-degree assault.
Swift County Sheriff John Holtz said the attack happened about 3 a.m. Sunday.
Kimble was taken to the Swift County Benson Hospital and later transferred to St. Cloud hospital.
Holtz said it appears alcohol was a factor in the altercation.
