Memorial Services were held June 10 at Faith Lutheran Church for 51-year-old Jodi Bergh of Madison. The Rev. Kirk Meseck officiated. Special music was provided by Linda Anderson, organist. Honorary urn bearers included Jan Schake, Mary Homan, Barb Billiet, Lori Irvine, Betty Chester, Linda Volkman, Cheryl Nelson, Kathy Thompson, Sadie Tourtillott, Rosemary Weber, Becky Skallerud and Julie Wollschlager. Active urn bearers included Jane Monson, Julie Olson, Kari Pearson and Sheryl Skallerud. Burial will be at a later date.
Jodi Lynn Bergh was born April 6, 1959, 18 minutes before her identical twin sister, Julie, to parents Paul and Marilyn (Espeland) Bergh in Madison. She was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church. Jodi attended school in Madison and graduated in 1977. She also attended Southwest State University in Marshall and Willmar Community College, where she earned a degree in law enforcement. Jodi worked with juveniles and for many years as unit coordinator at a REM home in Osakis. She then studied abstracting and opened her own abstracting business in 2005. In life, Jodi enjoyed her family and friends, gardening, music and animals. Her dog Peaches was very important to her.
Jodi died peacefully at her home with her family by her side on June 6, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. She had reached the age of 51 years and 2 months.
Jodi is survived by her sister, Julie, of Alexandria; her mother, Marilyn Bergh of Alexandria; her sister, Deb (Bob) Olson of Madison; and brother, Steve (Tracey) Bergh of Fergus Falls; three nephews, Eric Olson, Derik Bergh and Tyler Bergh; one niece, Kristin (Brandon) Bendel; one great-niece Alexis Bendel; many friends and co-workers.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul, who died in 2003; and special friend, Ronnie Mortenson.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Blessed be her memory.
