The Minnesota Wild recently announced that Alexandria will be one of the stops on its 18-city, 2010 Wells Fargo Road Tour, set to begin later this month.
The Alexandria stop will take place June 23 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Wells Fargo at 304 Maple Street. Wild broadcaster Dan Terhaar, former player and current Director of Community Partnerships Brad Bombardir and Wild players Brent Burns and Nate Prosser, along with Nordy the mascot, are all scheduled to make the stop in Alexandria.
Each tour stop includes fundraising opportunities for local youth hockey associations. Wild partners Coca-Cola and Schweigert are donating products for each city’s youth hockey association to sell at the stops. All the proceeds will go toward benefiting the local youth hockey program.
The Wild and Wells Fargo are also supporting Cell Phones for Soldiers on the road tour. Fans will receive a free puck or mug when donating a used cell phone at any of the tour stops. Cell Phones for Soldiers will recycle the used cell phones and send a 60-minute phone card to a soldier overseas for each phone donated.
