Recreation board honors pool rescuer

The Lakes Area Recreation Board gave a Life Saving Award to Taylor Anderson at its May meeting for her life-saving efforts at the Discovery Middle School on March 10.

The Lakes Area Recreation Board gave a Life Saving Award to Taylor Anderson at its May meeting for her life-saving efforts at the Discovery Middle School on March 10. Anderson, 15, was a lifeguard during a Special Olympics meet when she noticed a swimmer sinking to the bottom of the pool. She dove into the deep end of the pool, pulled the victim to the surface and helped with CPR until an ambulance arrived. The victim fully recovered.
