Section 5A girls' golf: Osakis win subsection title, Ross medalist

Osakis took home top honors in the Sub-section 5A girls’ golf tournament at Minnewaska last Friday, advancing the team to the Section 5A finals in Benson today, Friday.

West Central Area finished second, advancing them as well, 39 strokes back of the Silverstreaks.

Silverstreak Kelsey Ross led all golfers with a 79 for medalist honors, while teammate Katelyn Strelow carded a 95 to tie for second with Peyton Miller of Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa.

Jackie Bowman of Osakis and Megan Keep of West Central Area came in next at 96.

In boys’ action, Paul Hartmann earned an individual spot in the Section 5A tournament, carding an 89.

His boys’ team finished fifth in the tournament with a 382.
