Alexandria senior Angela Christianson had 44 points as her Class AAA team dropped both contests in the Minnesota Girls’ Coaches All-Star girls’ basketball games recently. Her contribution led all scorers.
In the first round, Class A defeated Class AAA 91-90 on a game-winning basket by Katrina Newman of Barnum with 4.5 seconds remaining. Christianson had 26 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals.
In the finals, her team fell to Class AA 89-70, despite Christianson netting 18 points in that game.
She also won the three-point shooting contest as she connected for 17. Cassie Rochel of Lakeville was second with 13.
Christianson will attend Drake University in Iowa next year.
