Letter - Burner project proceeds
In reference to Steve Hensley’s letter to the editor of May 19, I believe Mr. Hensley should get his facts straight.

In reference to Steve Hensley’s letter to the editor of May 19, I believe Mr. Hensley should get his facts straight.
The $5 million part of the state bonding bill that was earmarked for the Pope-Douglas Waste Management project would have been paid back by the state of Minnesota.
The project to add the third burner is still going forward, only the $5 million will be paid by increases in tipping fees and the residents of Pope County and Douglas County.
There are times when party lines must be crossed in order to honestly and fairly serve the people we represent.
