Man killed in early morning crash near Mandan, N.D.

A 40-year-old man died after the vehicle he was driving went off the road north of Mandan, N.D. at about 1 a.m. Thursday, according to a press release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

MANDAN, N.D. -- A 40-year-old man died after the vehicle he was driving went off the road north of here about 1 a.m. Thursday, according to a press release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred about a mile north of Mandan on Highway 1806 when the man drove off the right shoulder of the road, overcorrected to the left and skidded into the northwest ditch, where the vehicle rolled, according to the Highway Patrol.

The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the driver’s side window. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 2001 Chevrolet truck is totaled, according to the report.

Authorities have not release the man’s name.
