Guenther receives artist-mentor scholarship
The Lake Region Arts Council (LRAC) announced that Kalee Guenther, a sophomore at Jefferson High School in Alexandria, was one of 16 students to receive a 2010 Artist-Mentor scholarship.
The Lake Region Arts Council (LRAC) announced that Kalee Guenther, a sophomore at Jefferson High School in Alexandria, was one of 16 students to receive a 2010 Artist-Mentor scholarship. The goal of this program is to enhance each student's artistic creativity, skill, and personal growth.
The students will study their chosen art discipline one-to-one with a practicing professional artist June through September 2010; or students will attend a camp or workshop to strengthen their skills within their art discipline. Guenther’s area of study is music.
Applications were received from the nine counties of the Lake Region Arts Council region. Student auditions were April 17. Professional artists and educators reviewed the sessions and chose the recipients.
The Lake Region Arts Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to encourage and support the vitality of the arts. LRAC serves the counties of Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin in west central Minnesota.
