Alexandria Technical College Foundation held its 9th annual luncheon at Arrowwood Resort on Friday, April 30.
This year’s theme of “Help Somebody Be Somebody” was inspired by the foundation’s executive director Kathy Pfeffer Nohre’s grandchild.
The ATC Foundation promotes ATC students’ dreams of obtaining the education needed to achieve their aspirations.
More than 700 scholarships were given out last year alone to students pursuing their education.
Included among them are many of ATC’s Student Ambassadors who spoke at the luncheon. Several of the ambassadors spoke of their gratitude for the funding they had received from the foundation and how they were inspired by the investment others had made in them.
Approximately 500 individuals from the Alexandria area and surrounding communities attended the foundation’s luncheon as supporters of the foundation, the college and its students.
Among the guests were all of the college’s past presidents and a representative from the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System office
Pfeffer Nohre, ATC president Kevin Kopischke, and ATC Foundation board member Rose Shorma all addressed the gathering. Guests were also treated to a musical performance by local students from the Alexandria school district.
