2010 UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS

CARLOS, MINNESOTA

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the City of Carlos, Owner: Marcia Okerlund, Clerk at office of Widseth, Smith Nolting & Assoc., 610 Fillmore St., Alexandria, Minnesota, until 11:30 A.M., May 18 at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all materials, skill, labor and all else necessary for the Utility Improvements in City of Carlos, Minnesota.

Major items include the following approximate quantities:

Type SP 12.5 Bituminous Mix (B) – 1,140 Ton

8” PVC Watermain – 1,250 LF

4” Concrete Walk – 1,500 SF

Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a bidders bond acceptable to the City of Carlos in an amount of at least five (5%) percent of the total amount of the bid, payable without condition to the City of Carlos. In case the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract or to give bond as required by law within the specified number of days after the award of the contract, such check or bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages.

The contract Documents may be examined at the following locations: Carlos City Hall and at Widseth Smith Nolting & Associates, Inc., 610 Fillmore St., Alexandria, Minnesota.

Optional paper copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of Widseth Smith Nolting & Assoc., Inc. 610 Fillmore Street, Alexandria, Minnesota 56308 upon payment of $40.00 for each set which is not refundable.

All bids must be submitted on the official forms, prepared by the Engineer for that purpose. Bids shall be directed to the office of Widseth Smith Nolting, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside with a brief statement as to the work for which the bid is made.

City of Carlos reserves the right to hold all bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time set for receiving bids and to reject any and all bids and to award the contract as the District deems in their best interest.
