Knute Nelson needs volunteers to transport wheelchair residents to activities within the building. Call Judy Thielke at (320) 763-1162.
Runestone Museum needs volunteers in May and through the summer months to help with school tours, work in the gift shop and greet visitors on the weekends. Volunteers also needed for maintenance/janitorial tasks, and grounds keeping (mowing, weeding and trimming). Call Julie Blank at (320) 763-3160.
Foster Grandparents: Men and women ages 55 and older are needed in school-type settings in the Alexandria area. Must enjoy helping children and be willing to volunteer 15 hours per week minimum. Douglas County Public Health Senior Office is looking for volunteers to captain or help on the Let’s Go Fishing with Seniors’ pontoons this summer. All ages are welcome. Call Mary at (320) 762-3047.
Elder Network needs volunteers for Respite Program to spend one to four hours per week providing companionship and conversation to a care receiver so the caregiver can take a break.
