Letter - Otremba voted for incinerator

The April 23 Echo Press article on the incinerator needs correcting. Mr. Olmscheid states that “local representatives didn’t vote for the $5 million for the purchase of the additional burner.”

To the editor:

The April 23 Echo Press article on the incinerator needs correcting. Mr. Olmscheid states that “local representatives didn’t vote for the $5 million for the purchase of the additional burner.” He is right that Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen and Representative Torrey Westrom wouldn’t vote for it, but Representative Mary Ellen Otremba did vote for it. Thanks, Mary Ellen, for voting for your constituents.

By Senator Ingebrigtsen and Representative Westrom voting against the bonding bill, they also lost over a million dollars that was for the Alexandria Technical College.

There was pork in the bill? What bill doesn’t have pork in it? Pork to some is a needed and wanted project by others. By their votes, Pope and Douglas residents will have to make up the $5 million for the incinerator.
