'10-88 Run' for Deputy Chris Dewey will go through Evansville
The Sons of the American Legion Squadron #489 is sponsoring a “10-88 Run” (officer needs assistance) motorcycle run for Mahnomen County Deputy Chris Dewey on May 22 at the Underwood American Legion. The run will go through Evansville.
The Sons of the American Legion Squadron #489 is sponsoring a “10-88 Run” (officer needs assistance) motorcycle run for Mahnomen County Deputy Chris Dewey on May 22 at the Underwood American Legion. The run will go through Evansville.
Dewey was shot in the line of duty about a year ago and he is still recovering from the injuries.
Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. at Underwood Legion Post 489. The ride leaves at 11 a.m., rain or shine. Cost is $10 per bike/car and $5 for each additional rider (cars are welcome).
There will be a meal at the end of the ride and a free will donation will be accepted. There will also be a silent auction that will be open during the registration and will close at 5:30 p.m. There will be door prizes as well.

The ride will be 140 miles with three stops.
For anyone who would like to stand anywhere on the route to show their support and see all the different motorcycles, here is the route:
The ride will leave Underwood at 11 a.m. sharp north on County Road (CR) 35 and then west on CR22 and then north on CR3, west on CR24, with the first stop in Rothsay at The Power House.
Cyclists will leave Rothsay at about 12:35 p.m. and go west on Wilkin CR26, south on Wilkin CR19 through Foxhome and then east on Wilkin CR4, which turns into Otter Tail CR26 and then south on Grant CR 11 into Wendell for the second stop. This will be a 15 to 20 minute stop.
Riders will leave Wendell east on Highway 55 and then south on Highway 59 through Elbow Lake and then east on Highway 79 into Evansville with the stop at The Pitstop.
Riders will leave Evansville north on Douglas CR 1 to Highway 78 to Douglas CR 126 to Otter Tail CR47 to Otter Tail CR12 and to Otter Tail CR39 to Otter Tail CR35 into Underwood with an arrival time at the American Legion approximately 4 to 4:15 p.m. for the dinner.
