KSAX/KRWF-TV announces 2010 Jefferson Award winners

For the fifth consecutive year, KSAX/KRWF is proud to be the area’s media partner of the Jefferson Awards for Public Service.

The Jefferson Awards are a prestigious national recognition system honoring community and public service in America and are presented at local and national levels.

Locally, honorees are selected from nominations of ordinary people who accomplish extraordinary achievements without expectation of recognition or reward. The recipients of national awards are selected from the local levels and represent a cross-section of truly outstanding Americans.

For 2010, six nominees have been chosen from the nominations received. KSAX/KRWF wishes to congratulate the following nominees:

The Jefferson Awards were created to recognize volunteers from high school students through senior citizens. Only individuals are considered for nominations but couples who work together as a team can be nominated.

KSAX/KRWF Megan Brown joined Anthony Kiekow as hosts of the 2010 Jefferson Awards Gala for nominees, their friends and families on Tuesday, April 20 at Broadway Ballroom in Alexandria. Beth Bromen of the American Red Cross was keynote speaker for this year’s ceremony.
