Five Alexandria bowlers qualify for Pepsi championships
A group of five Alexandria youth bowlers qualified for the prestigious Minnesota Pepsi USBC Youth Bowling championships, set for tomorrow and Sunday.
Will Harding, Lauren Engebretson, Brayden Amundson, Bradon Dolman and Nicholas Chromey all qualified for the chance to compete against the top youth bowlers across the state.
Harding finished atop the district qualifying standings in the boys’ 12 and above handicap division. Engebretson was fourth in the girls’ 12 and above, while Amundson, Dolman and Chromey finished second through fourth, respectively, in the boys’ 11 and under division.
All five will compete in the state finals at Flaherty’s Arden Bowl in Arden Hills this weekend. Every bowler has a chance to compete for more than $12,800 in scholarships at the Minnesota state finals. Last year, more than $500,000 in scholarships was awarded across the country.
