Event to benefit Roy Wicken

A benefit will be held for Roy Wicken on Saturday, May 1 at the Elks Club in Alexandria from 5 to 10 p.m.

Wicken suffered a major heart attack a couple of weeks ago and was airlifted to Abbott Northwestern, where a stent was inserted. He is currently home recuperating.

The free-will donation event will feature a sloppy joe dinner with chips, pickles, dessert, coffee and water. Other beverages will be available for purchase.

Entertainment will be provided by the Skilly and Duff Irish Band, Sax Appeal, Jimmy Jenson, Denny Amundson and King Louie Moreno.

A Wickenik table (picnic table) handmade by Roy will be raffled off.

The event is sponsored by the Elks Club and friends of Roy and Patty Wicken to help defray medical expenses.
