Three Alexandria track and field athletes will be competing in the prestigious Hamline Elite Meet at Hamline University in St. Paul today.
Five Cardinal athletes - Rosey Erickson, Jamie Piepenburg, Dan Gorghuber, Ben Vickstrom and Bob Guetter - all qualified for the meet, but just three will attend.
Erickson will compete in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, while Piepenburg will compete in the 3,200-meter run and Dan Gorghuber will compete in the 400-meter run.
Vickstrom qualified in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, but is ill and will not attend, and Guetter qualified in the shot put, but re-injured his foot and will not be able to compete.
The Elite Meet participants are selected on 2010 qualifying times and marks, with just the top competitors receiving an invitation.
