Having a well-behaved dog makes the experience of having a pet much more enjoyable. Imagine being able to take your dog for a walk without it pulling you the entire way or imagine having a dog that sits quietly when company comes to the door.
The Lakes Area Humane Society will be having a basic dog obedience class starting on Tuesday, April 27. The cost is $60 and the profits will be applied toward the operating expense of the animal shelter.
This class will run one night per week for five weeks and will cover the basic obedience commands of “heel, sit, stay, come” and more.
This class is appropriate for dogs of all ages and for all dog owners, no matter what level of experience they may have.
The instructor will be Randy Buker. He has been teaching this class for eight years and has a total of more than 30 years of professional dog training experience. During those years, he’s either trained or helped train approximately 1,000 dogs.
Beyond the basic commands, participants will learn how to understand their dog’s behavior a bit better so they can interact with it in a manner that allows the dog to fit into their family.
