Raeker resigns from watershed board

Richard Raeker of Melrose recently resigned from the Sauk River Watershed District Board.

Richard Raeker of Melrose recently resigned from the Sauk River Watershed District Board. He was appointed to the SRWD Board in July of 2008 by the Stearns County commissioners. His term would have ended in June of 2010.

During Raeker’s time with the SRWD he was instrumental in providing guidance and direction on public relations. He is one of nine managers appointed by the counties within the watershed including: Stearns, Douglas, Todd, Pope, and Meeker. Stearns County has four representatives; Todd has two; and Douglas, Pope and Meeker counties have one each.

Stearns County is currently in the process of seeking applications to replace the vacancy on the SRWD Board. The watershed district manager position provides guidance and oversight for planning and implementation of education, monitoring, construction and regulatory programs.
