A 47-year-old Alexandria man was arrested for having an indoor marijuana growing operation in his basement.

On Monday, April 19, agents from the West Central Minnesota Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at the residence of Robert Russell Lutz, who lives at 516 Willow Drive in Alexandria.

Agents located an indoor marijuana growing operation in the basement of the house and recovered 60 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, along with growing equipment and supplies.

Lutz was arrested shortly after the warrant was executed and is expected to be charged with fifth degree controlled substance crime in Douglas County District Court this week.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Alexandria Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office assisted the task force on this case.
