Defensive Driving classes set
The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Defensive Driving classes are held year-round at the Alexandria Senior Center.

The initial eight-hour first-time course is given in two four-hour sessions. Thereafter, the four-hour refresher courses are given and need to be taken every three years to continue to qualify for the 10 percent discount on vehicle insurance.
Following are the upcoming classes.
• Eight-hour first-time course – Thursdays, May 13 and 20, August 12 and 19, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.; Saturdays, June 12 and 19, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Tuesdays, July 20 and 27, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Four-hour refresher courses – Tuesdays, May 4 and 18, June 15 and 29, July 13, August 10, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Saturdays, May 8, June 5, August 28, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Thursdays, May 27, June 17, July 22, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
