The theme for this year’s grand march, held at the Jefferson gym for the second straight year, was “Grecian Gardens.”
The turnout, according to organizers, was higher than past years – 217 couples were introduced at the grand march and more than 1,200 people, mainly proud parents, grandparents and siblings, came to watch the event.
A dance was held at the Broadway Ballroom later that evening.
The prom bulletin included a quote from author Vicki Baum that summed up the occasion: “There are short-cuts to happiness and dancing is one of them.”
Prom king nominees included Matt Anderson, Tyler Johnson, Jordan Weaver and Mark Whiting. Queen candidates were Kelli Winter, Emma Sieling, Alyssa Haugen and Maggie Leland.
Organizers said that all in all, it was a smooth night.
The Echo Press website features a slideshow of the grand march. A photo gallery will also be available online.
