HANCOCK, Minn. – A Hancock, Minn., soldier was killed in Iraq in a noncombat-related incident, according to family sources.
Army Sgt. Kurt E. Kruize, a 1993 graduate of Hancock High School, died Sunday, his father Lyle Kruize told the Hancock Record Wednesday morning. Kruize’s body arrived Tuesday night at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
Kruize was married to Billie Kruize of St. Cloud and had four children, according to his father.
Kruize was serving in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
