Baskets benefit food shelf
Students at St. Mary’s School in Alexandria brought in baskets, grass, small toys, stuffed animals, and arts and crafts supplies to make Easter baskets to donate to the local food shelf.
For two weeks, students in kindergarten through 6th grade at St. Mary’s School in Alexandria brought in baskets, grass, small toys, stuffed animals, and arts and crafts supplies to make Easter baskets to donate to the local food shelf. After all the supplies were collected, the 5th graders were given the task of assembling the baskets – filling plastic eggs with candy and supplying each basket with items age-appropriate for each grade level. More than 50 baskets were taken to the food shelf.
