Free diabetes screenings offered

The Douglas County Lions Club is sponsoring the following free diabetes screenings during April, which is Diabetes Awareness Month.

The Douglas County Lions Club is sponsoring the following free diabetes screenings during April, which is Diabetes Awareness Month.

• Tuesday, April 13, 7 to 9 a.m., Evansville Community Center;

• Thursday, April 15, 7 to 9 a.m., Pollard Community Center in Osakis.

• Tuesday, April 20, 7 to 9 a.m., Brandon Senior Center.

• Thursday, April 22, 7 to 9 a.m., Alexandria Senior Center.

• Tuesday, April 27, 7 to 9 a.m., Kensington Community Center.

• Thursday, April 29, 7 to 9 a.m., Viking Plaza Mall, Alexandria.

Screening is most effective if four hours fasting is observed before the screening. The Lions will serve a light snack following the screening.
