JHS speech team concludes regular season
The Jefferson High School speech team finished its regular season at the St. Cloud Tech tournament on Saturday, March 27.
The Jefferson High School speech team finished its regular season at the St. Cloud Tech tournament on Saturday, March 27.
More than 700 students from 28 schools competed, with each student presenting in three rounds. The top 14 in each of 13 categories then met in a finals round.
Alexandria finished in the middle as a team, 14th, and had five finals participants: Caroline Roers was 2nd in Great Speeches, Katelyn Steffel 8th in Poetry Interpretation, Mackenzie Meier 10th in Extemporaneous Reading, Katie Lovrien 11th in Discussion, Hayley Thull 14th in Creative Expression. The team travels to Detroit Lakes for sub-section competition on April 6.
