Hospitality industry in spotlight at Capitol

Three industry leaders from the Alexandria area attended and met with legislators to discuss issues that affect lodging, restaurants, resorts and campgrounds in Minnesota.
Peggy Olson, general manager of the AmericInn, Sue Jung, general manager of the Hampton Inn & Suites and Dwight Droen of Viking Bay Resort visited Representative Torrey Westrom and Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen at their State Capitol offices.
Hospitality Minnesota manages three associations that work together – the Minnesota Lodging Association, Minnesota Restaurant Association and the Minnesota Resorts and Campgrounds Association.
These three associations are leading providers of lobbying, education and marketing to Minnesota lodging, restaurants and resorts/campgrounds and their suppliers.

Olson and Jung both serve on the board of directors for the Minnesota Lodging Association, and Droen is a past director of the Minnesota Resorts and Campgrounds Association.
