Alexandria soldier promoted to major
Shayne Simon of Alexandria has been promoted to the rank of major in the North Dakota Army National Guard.
Shayne Simon of Alexandria has been promoted to the rank of major in the North Dakota Army National Guard.
Simon is deployed to Kosovo with Multi-National Battle Group-East on a NATO peace-keeping mission. Simon was promoted by Col. Giselle Wilz, chief of operations for MNBG-E. On the deployment, Shayne serves as operations planner for the MNBG-E plans section.
Simon has been a member of the North Dakota National Guard for 15 years. He serves with the 141 MEB in Fargo, ND. In civilian life, Simon works for School District 206 as a teacher.
He is married to Meg Simon of Alexandria, and has two children, Cameron and Cadence.
