A robbery was reported at Tio’s Mexican Grill in Alexandria Monday night – the third robbery in the city in the past month.
The incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. A store employee told police that a masked black male showed up at the restaurant at 217 North Nokomis while it was closing.
The suspect told the employee that he wanted money and then grabbed a money bag and fled the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall with a medium build.
He was wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt. He was also wearing a ski mask with three holes in it to partially hide his face.
There were no injuries reported and – unlike two previous robberies reported at Papa Murphy’s last month – no weapons were displayed.
The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the incident.
The other robberies occurred at about 9 p.m. on February 17 and February 25 as the Papa Murphy’s pizza business at 1405 Broadway was closing for the day. This suspect was described as a white male in his late teens to early 20s wearing a Scream mask.
