Marit Aaseng, a Jefferson High School student, auditioned with her viola and was accepted into the Minnesota All-State Orchestra.
This is one of the highest honors a high school musician in Minnesota can receive.
The select orchestra gave a concert on February 13 at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis, where they performed Benjamin Britten’s A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra and Pytor Tschaikowsky’s Finale to Symphony No. 4.
The All-State Orchestra rehearsed for a week last summer and performed a concert at that time, and then came back together for a couple days this February to perform this concert.
Aaseng was placed in the third chair in the viola section.
