The Central Lakes Conference math contest was held February 24.
The Central Lakes Conference math contest was held February 24.
Five of the 10 schools in the Central Lakes Conference participated, including Alexandria, Fergus Falls, Little Falls, Sauk Rapids-Rice and St. Cloud Tech. A total of 86 students were involved.
During this event, students were given 45 minutes to complete a 30-question test covering topics in geometry, algebra, pre-calculus and calculus.
Team scores were calculated by combining the scores of the top eight students for each school.
St. Cloud Tech took 1st place with a team score of 179. Alexandria took 2nd with a score of 125, followed by Little Falls (123), Sauk Rapids-Rice (122) and Fergus Falls (117).
JHS team members Paul Yager and John Turner received all-conference recognition for placing in the top 15 students. Kyle Fulghum and Leah Stinson received all-conference honorable mention for scoring in the top 25.
