Living Word Church adopts constitution
Living Word Lutheran Church, a new Lutheran congregation, began in Alexandria on Sunday, February 14 with the adoption of its constitution.
Living Word Lutheran Church, a new Lutheran congregation, began in Alexandria on Sunday, February 14 with the adoption of its constitution. The congregation voted to affiliate with Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ, a rapidly growing association of 339 congregations in the United States and eight foreign countries.
Living Word Lutheran Church is rooted in the authority of the Scriptures, orthodox adherence to Reformation teachings as defined in the Lutheran Confessions and a traditional view of marriage and the family. The focus of its ministry is to the community in and around Alexandria and extending to outreach around the globe by partnering with other organizations to make the most efficient use of its means.
The congregation has begun the process of calling a full-time pastor. Christian education programs are in place for youth and adults with emphasis on providing a safe place for children to learn Christian values.
Sunday worship services are held at the Life Right Outreach building at 1906 6th Avenue East at 9 a.m. with Sunday school at 10:15 a.m. Lenten services are held at 7 p.m. Thursdays.
