ICE RINK DASHER

BOARD SYSTEM

The City of Alexandria, Minnesota is accepting bids to install new ice rink dasher boards in the Runestone Community Center located at 802 3rd Avenue West in Alexandria, Minnesota. The bidding documents are available by contacting Vinnie Hennen at the Runestone Community Center at 320-763-4466 (office) or 320-298-0319 (cell).

Qualified bidders must be licensed in the State of Minnesota and must provide evidence of insurance. The proposal must be accompanied by a cashier’s check, bid bond or certified check equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposed payment to the owner as a guarantee of prompt execution of the contract in accordance with the proposal and contract documents and that an acceptable bid bond, covering performance of the contract, will be furnished.

Qualified bidders must have successfully completed five projects of similar size and complexity using the ice rink dasher board system. Contractor qualification documents are required for review prior to submitting a bid.

Bidding contract documents are on file and are available for public inspection at the Runestone Community Center, 802 3rd Avenue West, Alexandria, Minnesota.

Bids may not be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. Completion of the RCC boards shall not be later than June 4, 2010 and for the west rink boards by May 28, 2010. All bids must be submitted on the project bid form and each bidder must verify in writing all documents upon which his/her bid proposal is based. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities in bids.

All bids are due in writing on Thursday, February 25, 2010 not later than 2:00 pm at the City Council Chambers at Alexandria City Hall, 704 Broadway. Bids will be opened publicly at this time. Envelopes containing bids must be sealed and marked as bid proposal and must indicate the name of the bidder and the date and hour of the opening and be addressed to: Jim Taddei, City Administrator, Alexandria City Hall, 704 Broadway, Alexandria, Minnesota 56308.

Date of substantial completion is June 4, 2010 for the RCC rink and May 28, 2010 for the west rink. The agreement for the work will be written on AIA document, A101, standard form of agreement between the owner and contractor where the basis of payment is a stipulated sum.
