Letter - Kudos to the Alexandria street workers

I want to congratulate our street crew in Alexandria. When we get snow and ice they do a remarkable job of moving snow and keeping our streets accessible.

To the editor:

I want to congratulate our street crew in Alexandria. When we get snow and ice they do a remarkable job of moving snow and keeping our streets accessible. Much sooner than some of the other cities I have been to recently. When clearing our streets, the full width of the streets is cleared and the shoulders of our roads are plowed as well.

While residents of other towns are crowded together with snow piled up in the gutters and edges of the roadways, we travel on well kept streets. The highways are cleaned wide enough for pulling safely off on the shoulder and our city looks well cared for when driving in from some other towns.

We get plenty of snow here in Alexandria, and the job our street workers do is not easy or always convenient. I, for one, appreciate the work they do for our safety and ease of travel. Here’s kudos to you.
