Students at Voyager Elementary School got an interesting award for raising money for a good cause – they watched their principal, Dana Christenson, get his head shaved. The school took part in a Pennies for Patients fundraiser for leukemia and lymphoma. They were challenged to raise $1,500 by bringing in spare change, but in just eight days, $3,716 was raised for the cancer cause. The class that raised the most funds at each grade level earned a popcorn/movie party, while the class that raised the most money overall, Bob Cunniff’s 6th graders, won a pizza party. Christenson followed through on his promise to have his hair shaved at a recent celebration. Another teacher, Nate Knick, also had his head shaved, and Christenson, Knick and Cunniff each got a pie in the face.
