The Viking Speedway held its annual awards banquet last Friday night, honoring the 2009 season champions in five WISSOTA divisions.
It was announced that long–time race supporters Stu Olson and Greg Muzik will be inducted into the Viking Speedway Hall of Fame at an August race.
Rich and Robyn Snyder of Winning Edge Graphics awarded lettering certificates to competitors Larry Lund and Travis Saurer.
Rookies of the Year were honored as follows: Justin Tammen in the Street Stock division, Darrin Braaten in Midwest Modified, Cody Lee in Super Stock and Matt Smith in Modified.
The racers in attendance voted for drivers in all divisions for the Sportsman of the Year honors. Winners included Jeff Wildung in the Late Model division, Dennis Bitzan in Modified, Jon Stepan in Super Stock, Josh Thoennes in Midwest Modified and Andrew Bangsund in Street Stock.

Viking Speedway will kick off its 2010 race season with the running of the Fall Classic, postponed from October 2009. The event is slated for Thursday through Saturday, April 15–17.
