Two advance to state in Nordic skiing for Alexandria
Senior captains Austin McCoy and Sarah Peper both advanced to the State Nordic ski meet with finishes of 10th and 11th respectively.
McCoy skied to a 34:09, with an 18:27 in the Classic division and a 15:42 in the Skate division, while Peper skied a 38:49 with a 21:18 in the Classic and a 17:31 in the Skate.
The State Nordic ski meet is next Thursday, February 11 at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.
They boys' Freestyle division will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the girls' Freestyle, the boys' Classical and the girls' Classical.
Overall, both the boys' and the girls' teams finished fifth at the section meet at Camp Ripley Wednesday.
