The Pinewood Derby is a project for the Scouts in which they build a gravity-powered car of their own design. Cars are made from pine wood. They must meet certain requirements regarding dimensions and weight along with other rules. Cub Scouts receive some help from parents/guardians, but are encouraged to work independently.
