At the caucus, precinct officers will be elected; delegates and alternates will be elected to the Douglas County Republican Party Convention and legislative district endorsing conventions; resolutions will be presented, discussed and acted on; and a gubernatorial preference ballot/straw poll will be conducted.
Delegates and alternates elected at the caucus will represent their precincts at the upcoming county convention, which will be February 20 at 7 p.m. at the Alexandria Senior Center, 414 Hawthorne Street in Alexandria.
Minnesota is one of the few states where everyone has an opportunity to be heard and get involved in what is called grassroots politics, noted local GOP leaders.
Showing up at your precinct caucus is the first step, they said, and they encouraged residents to attend and see how the process really begins at the grassroots.
