Free tax help available for low-income persons

West Central Minnesota Communities Action, Inc. is offering free tax preparation starting January 25.

West Central Minnesota Communities Action, Inc. is offering free tax preparation starting January 25.

If your income is below $49,000 for a family and $30,000 for individuals, you would qualify to have your taxes done at Community Action.

Many families qualify for the EIC, Working Family, K-12, Child Tax Credit and more.

All volunteers are trained through the IRS certification program and your tax return can be e-filed.

A clinic is open in Alexandria on Monday and Tuesday, and in Elbow Lake on Wednesday and Thursday.
