Peter Rohr, a 6th grader at St. Mary’s School in Alexandria, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee. The school-level bee, at which students answered oral questions on geography, was the last round before taking a written exam.
Claire Wilmesmeier, a 5th grader, was second at the competition and Taylor Blank, a 6th grader, placed third.
Rohr will now take the written exam, where 100 of the top scorers in Minnesota will be eligible to advance to the state bee in April.
