Attention Alexandria residents: Lock your vehicles and garages.

The Alexandria Police Department continues to receive calls from several residents in the Bryant, Ash, Fillmore and Cedar neighborhoods of people entering parked cars and garages and stealing items.

More than 10 victims reported the incidents.

Most of the cars and garages were unlocked at the time.

Most of the items stolen are small electronics and money, according to police.

The latest incidents are believed to have happened between 1:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13.

Anyone with any information about these incidents is encouraged to call the Alexandria Police Department at (320) 763-6631.

“We also want to encourage all citizens to lock all doors of their buildings and vehicles,” said Police Chief Rick Wyffels in a news release issued Wednesday afternoon. “If you see people walking around in your neighborhood in the early morning hours, again, please do not hesitate to call the Alexandria Police Department.”
