The Alexandria Veterans Affairs (VA) clinic will offer H1N1 vaccine and seasonal flu shots at no charge to veterans who receive their health care through the VA.
The vaccines will be offered on Tuesday, January 12 from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. The clinic is located at 515 22nd Avenue East.
“Immunization against both types of influenza is very important,” said Meri Hauge, associate director for patient care services/nurse executive. “Each year, about 36,000 Americans die from seasonal flu-related causes and so far, 52 Minnesotans have died from H1N1 influenza complications. We want to protect our veterans, so we encourage them to take advantage of these clinics.”
Veterans who have questions about the H1N1 flu shot clinics may call the VA’s Flu Shot Information Line at (320) 255-6444.
